If you are like me and feel like you have to drag yourself off the couch sometimes this information will be helpful to you. Afternoon naps can be a great way to recover from an energy drain. I try to get a nap a few times a year but it’s not a luxury I can take often. There are other ways to get the pickup that you need and I’m here to share what works for me. It’s a lot easier than you may think and these are simple steps anyone can take.
When you start to feel the energy drain get up and workout. I know that can be easier said than done. Once you get up and start moving you will feel so much better. You will be amazed by how much energy you can pull from once you get going. I will get up during commercials and lift weights, dance around the room and do a few ab exercises. The rush of endorphins is enough for you to wake yourself up and it can really train your body so that you stop getting tired in the afternoon as well.
Eat Dark Chocolate
Dark chocolate has been shown to have great benefits for your health. It has been known to boost cognitive skills. Another boost it can give you is in your mood. Be careful to no go overboard with it. I think it’s nice to know I can have a special treat and it can help boost my energy levels at the same time.
Getting outside will do wonders for your mental and physical health. Connecting with nature and getting fresh air can really change your mood and energy levels. When you start to feel sluggish get up and go for a walk. I love to take a walk around the lake or just walk around the neighborhood. It’s also a great way to connect with others. I like to walk with friends so we can connect without all the normal distractions we usually have.
There are plenty of ways for you to get an instant energy boost, and a lot of it is just trying to find out which one works for you!
