IFBB Masters Baltimore Pro NPC Baltimore Classic Championships Baltimore. My BFF Dawnn competed this year and I was happy to spend the entire day watching the show and showing her support. It’s been a long time since I immersed myself in the competition scene. I did not compete this year but it has put me in a different mindset.
If you’ve never been to a show before I would suggest looking for a local one in your area. The Maryland area events can be found here.
I have a lot of thoughts about competing again and I will save that for another time. I’ve done the weight loss thing in the past but this time it will be more mental than anything else.
It was a journey for my girlfriend and I could not be more proud of her. We work this one together. I was available whenever she needed a pep talk or to vent.
Doing a competition is really a you vs you sport. This is something that you can have support during but in the end, you need to get your head out of your ass and just do it!
I say that in a harsh manner because that is the way I see it. That’s what got me get through my two shows.
This was a pro show so it was longer than normal shows but it was cool to see people from all over the world. It was pretty amazing and I got to watch some fitness routines. They are my favorite because I love anything that has a dance routine attached to it.
My friend Dawnn won hardware that night and she looked amazing. The inspiration she gave me is huge. I needed to see her succeed. I knew she would and I’m so proud of her.
Even though this sport is a single-player sport it really does help when you have a strong support system when you need it.
I’m not sure what the future will hold but I do know that I can and will improve from where I am today. Next year will hold good things for all of us.
